Do You Still Have A Question?
Then take a look through the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) below.
1) Why Should I Hire You As My Coach?
You will benefit from what I have learnt from over 10 years of competing in endurance events. Including winning multiple races from 5k to 100 mile events.
Plus, I have experience of training athletes with different goals and level of abilities.
This means that you will improve quicker and easier than if you had to go out and learn the training and racing techniques for yourself
My thorough style to creating your training plan also means that you will improve very quickly.
The plans that I create are detailed. And I explain the reasons ‘why’ I’m giving you specific advice. Rather than simply telling you ‘what’ to do.
Each meeting is followed up with thorough notes, which means you can easily refer back to what we’ve spoken about and advised. And you are completely clear about what you have to do next.
And I am open and flexible in how we communicate. It is up to you how often we make contact. And how we do it. Whether that’s via email, WhatApp, text, calls or anything else.
2) Do You Coach Athletes From Outside the UK?
Yes, absolutely!
All of the meetings I have with athletes are on the phone or via Skype. So you can do that from anywhere in the world!
3) How Often Can We Have Contact?
That’s completely up to you.
Most of the athletes I work with take the silver plan, which includes at least one call every two weeks.
But we often end up having more regular calls than that. Especially around key times, like races. Where we might have a weekly call for 2 - 3 weeks. This is to ensure you’re fully prepared for those key moments.
In between calls we can have very regular contact via email, text, WhatsApp or another form.
4) How Do You Decide What to Include in My Plan?
There are a number of factors that help me decide what to include.
First, you fill in a questionnaire that tells me about your goals, history and time to train. This forms the foundation of your training plan.
If you take a monthly training plan (bronze, silver or gold), then I make adaptations to it, based on how you’re performing, your lifestyle and a number of other things. This is completely flexible and means that your training plan is always relevant and up-to-date.
I use a blend of training approaches. depending on what your specific circumstances are - Including theories from Jack Daniels, Arthur Lydiard, Phil Maffetone and others. Plus I use my own experiences of what’s worked for me and for athletes that I’ve trained.
And because I’m still a competitive runner myself, I am constantly learning new methods and approaches from books, podcasts and a community of other runners.
It’s a lot of work to keep up with the latest theories and practises.
And that’s why it’s much quicker and easier for you. Because you don’t have to do the research!
5) How Do You Deliver Plans?
Training plans are usually stored in Google Sheets and shared between both of us. This is so that we can both see it easily and edit it.
I ask athletes to provide feedback how their training is going in the plan and Google Sheets means you can do that.
Although if you’d rather them delivered another way, I can accommodate for that.
6) What Do We Cover on Calls?
Anything that’s relevant for you.
We can usually cover a lot on a call. Especially if you provide some feedback on your training in the Google Sheets document beforehand.
There’s also a space in that document for topics that you’d like to cover next time. Which means I can come prepared to the meeting with answers.
As well as how your training and racing has gone since we last spoke, we can talk about: your upcoming training, nutrition, sports psychology techniques, race strategy, race preparation, kit and equipment and anything else.
7) What Are the Prices for the Different Plans?
There are 4 types of plan.
The bronze plan is a monthly payment of £109 (UK)/ $141 (US)/ €127 (Euros). This is reduced to the equivalent of £99 (UK)/ $128 (US)/ €115 (Euros) per month, if you pay for your entire plan upfront.
The silver plan is a monthly payment of £139 (UK)/ $180 (US)/ €162 (Euros). This is reduced to the equivalent of £129 (UK)/ $167 (US)/ €150 (Euros) per month, if you pay for your entire plan upfront.
The gold plan is a monthly payment of £199 (UK)/ $258 (US)/ €231 (Euros). This is reduced to the equivalent of £179 (UK)/ $232 (US)/ €208 (Euros) per month, if you pay for your entire plan upfront.
The one-off plan includes a one-off payment of £249 (UK)/ $319 (US)/ €279 (Euros).
To have an introductory call of between 60 - 90 minutes, there is a one-off payment of £49 (UK)/ $59 (US)/ €49 (Euros). If you take the bronze, silver or gold plan, you will get this back. And it will be taken off your first month’s payment.
8) How Do You Take Payment?
Payment is taken by bank transfer.
if you are paying on a monthly basis, you pay for the upcoming month 10 days in advance.
For example, if your plan started on 1st January, you would send payment by the 21st December.
9) What Happens with the One-Off Introductory Payment?
If you decide to have an introductory call, you will need to pay a one-off payment of £49 (UK)/ $59 (US)/ €49 (Euros).
You get that back if you take the Bronze, Silver or Gold training plan. So your first payment would be reduced by that amount.
10) What If I Change My Mind?
I am very confident that you will value my coaching service.
And it’s for that reason that I offer a 14-day money-back guarantee with the Bronze, Silver and Gold training plans. This is no questions asked.
Unfortunately I can’t offer the money-back guarantee on the one-off payment or for the one-off training plans.
11) My Company Has A Benefit That I Can Use For This Type of Thing. Do You Accept That?
In most situation, I can offer this. Although we’d have to talk about the specific benefit that you have.
12) I Know Someone Who Would Benefit From Your Coaching. Is There A Reward For Me To Refer Them?
Yes!
There is a £25 referral reward for anyone that recommends someone else to my coaching service and if they then take out a plan.
Either send them to this page to find out more or tell them to send me an email directly to James@JamesRunsFar.com.
Don’t forget to tell them that you recommended me!
13) I Still Have A Question. Where Can I Find Out More?
Simply send me an email to James@JamesRunsFar.com and I’ll be happy to help.
